Our Mission

Here at Total Body of Believers Worship Center, we focus on the totality of man. Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Creating a dynamic environment for authentic worship, effective teaching and communication and physical wellness and healing, while developing genuine community with each other is our goal. We seek to live by faith, to be known by love, and to be a voice of hope.

Mind

The mind is the starting point to change. A man’s thoughts are the Launchpad to his actions. In Proverbs 23:7, it says “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he….”. If our focus is on anything not of God, then your mind will yield thoughts full of deceit, lust, shame and hopelessness. Likewise, if your focus is on God and his will, your thoughts will be full of hope, purpose, joy, truth and peace. Isaiah 26:3 reads “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on him”. True change comes when we make a decision to change the focus in our mind. As expressed in the sermon “Mind Freedom” by Pastor Matthew Cannon, it is in our MIND that we must decide, declare, and depend.

Body

The Bible teaches us that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19 “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you…”. We have a responsibility to take care of our physical body because it is the vessel that God shall use to bring glory to his kingdom. Since our body is the temple it is our job to take care of the temple, and God will fill the temple with the glory of the Holy Spirit. Romans 12:1, says “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, unto God, which is your reasonable service.

spirit

The Latin origins of spirit is “spiritus” which means “Breath”. The bible reads in Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life…...” When we were created, God put a piece of himself into us which is how he created us in his image. When sin crept into the picture it disconnected the “God likeness” in us from God himself. It took the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus dying on the cross to reconcile the spirit within us back to God.

soul

Our soul is our innermost being. It is the very essence of who we are. When we accept Christ as our savior, it is our soul that benefits the gift of eternal life. Our body shall pass away, but the gift of God is eternal life for our soul. Matthew 10: 28 reads “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy both the soul and the body in hell”. Ezekiel 18:4, reads “Behold all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the soul that sinneth, it shall die”. The ultimate question is; when this body is destroyed, where will my soul dwell?
